Frits van Wel is psycholoog, socioloog verbonden aan de faculteit Sociale Wetenschappen van de Universiteit van Utrecht. Zijn onderzoek richt zich hoofdzakelijk op het vlak van cultuur, zorg en welzijn en in het bijzonder van gezin en jeugd. Binnen het onderwijs houdt Frits van Wel zich bezig met sociale interventies, cultuur, media en lifestyles.
